It was great to see the team get a W for the night over Utah State with some fantastic defensive playing tonight. It was a long wait during the first have to get some action that got the fans going, but it did happen eventually. Hope you enjoy a few of my shots from the game. You can see where a few of them were used on the BYU Football facebook page along with photos from my office.
Last night after shooting the BYU Men’s Soccer game I head up to the Bell tower with my friend Kelyn to get some shots of the fireworks. We first set up by the new heritage buildings but decided that it was not the best angle so we headed down to the parking lot by heritage. We got the camera all set up on the tripod, with a remote trigger(using pocket wizards) and a long exposure. We then proceeded to wait about an hour for the fireworks to start. I started shooting 20 second exposures but decided to drop it to 5 to make the photos a little less busy. We shot clear through the show and stayed until the smoke settled. In the end we got some great shots and I was really happy with the location. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Yesterday for work I was assigned to shoot the promotional photos for the Spring Opera for BYU, where they will perform The Mikado. I have not done theatrical promotional photography before so it was a fun learning experience and I feel like I came out with some fun shots. It was great to work with the different performers and try to show some of the emotion and fun of this show. I used three lights with an octa-bank, large soft-box and barn doors to light the shots. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Tonight I got to shoot BYU Rugby’s National Championship game against Arkansas St. at Rio Tinto Stadium. There was lots of great action and more scoring that last year. It was a lot of fun to shoot and the guys came away with the victory which always helps. Here are some of my favorite shots form the night.
This was my favorite sequences from the night with Mikey Su’a who was also the MVP
